I viewed The Dawn of Numbers, an animated video uploaded by MyWhyU on Youtube. It is very interesting. Students must view this.
This fictitious story  takes place on the fititious island of Cocoloco and roughly parallels the historical evolution of number systems. It takes a humorous look at early attempts at creating number systems, leading to the base-10 decimal numbers.

My students have just finished their mid-year examination. Though the school holidays have started, the piles of examination papers to be marked form a small hill on my working table in the house. Happy marking to me and the teachers out there who have to spent their holidays marking. "Happy holidays"

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

It is already the 4th of January 2012. School has reopened for the new term in the new year. Students are back to school. The school has chosen to start the Form 5 mathematics with chapter 2 : Graphs of Functions, a chapter supposedly to be easier to understand and grasp the concepts. Well, for the form 5 students out there, get ready your graph books and happy graphing!
